Brian Ezekian, MD

About

Brian Ezekian, MD is a multi-organ transplant surgeon who specializes in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation. Dr. Ezekian earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Duke University where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Ezekian was also involved in research to develop novel methods for treating HLA-sensitization and antibody-mediated rejection in kidney transplantation, which was recognized with a Young Investigator Award from the American Transplant Congress. Dr. Ezekian then completed a dual fellowship in abdominal organ transplant and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery at the University of Toronto. His clinical interests involve expanding the donor pool for liver transplantation with the use of ex vivo perfusion strategies.

In his free time, Dr. Ezekian enjoys running, hiking, paddleboarding, playing the guitar, and traveling with his wife. Dr. Ezekian is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery, and is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.
